Welcome to the Fall edition of The Jaeger Journal. It's been too long since I've put out a newsletter but what a lot has happened in the time since we last published! There are a lot of new people on the list this time around and more about that later as it is really relevant and exciting (how's that for a teaser!)
For those that are new to the Journal it has really been a project since 1993 when my boys were in college or almost out and we wanted to try to keep them up to date on events in the family. Over the years, first in print and then through the internet the list of people getting copies grew like Topsey. When a new edition comes out we actually get upwards of 10,000 hits. An incredible number that makes no sense actually. The subjects remain basically the same: Family, Friends, Fraternity, and my always unabashed opinion on everything and anything!
Now what has been going on:
First, our family size has grown not merely by some wonderful new kids including a new granddaughter just born but as more and more family connections are made. Jaegers, Fauerbachs, Collinses, Benjamins and Van Kollems (really the forerunners of the Collins branch). Direct living second cousins and closer have increased to over 100 and 70 first cousins or closer. A note to all: really need your input to make this Journal a success, what you are doing and what is new in your lives sent to the "Family and Friends" E-mail Address
Second, we can be proud of the successes of of several nieces and nephews who are moving forward into careers of giving service to the communities they are in or will live in in the future.
Third, as always our friends are up to some interesting and unique things and some fraternity brothers are truly making us proud with there activities.
Finally, some of the activities that have been very important to us have finally come to a successful conclusion thanks to the efforts of a lot of people. A lot of our community activities have been successful and hopefully we will continue in them in the future.
